RP Data possesses what is believed to be the leading set
of property information databases in Australia, which contain over
60 million data records on over 98% of Australian residential real
estate assets.
The data used in the RP Data-Rismark Indices are sourced data from
RP Data, which is Australia’s leading property information
company. RP Data captures information pertaining to almost every
residential real-estate transaction in Australia. It therefore contains
the “population” of residential property transactions
in Australia.
These raw transaction records for all purchases and sales throughout
Australia have been significantly augmented with additional data
relating to individual property attributes. This has been obtained
through a variety of proprietary data collection channels. These
channels include:
- Information from local government councils;
- Information supplied by over 60% of Australian real estate
agents who use RP Data’s software systems;
- Information disclosed in printed media forums, that is subsequently
inputted into RP Data’s system;
- Other Internet based means.
